EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team opened its dual at UW-Eau Claire with an 11-0 lead, but the host Blugolds rallied for the 28-14 win over the Pointers.
 
Ben Vosters (Hatley, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) earned UWSP six points with a victory by forfeit at 125.  In the second match of the night, Matt Berlin (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) won by tech fall, 19-2, in the first period.
 
David Granatelli (Appleton, Wis./North) earned a 16-14 decision at 157 to keep the Pointers in front, his ninth win of the year, but UWEC swept the final five matches to earn the dual victory.
 
The Pointers return to the mat on Jan. 6 with duals against Cornell and Luther at Quandt Fieldhouse. The day's action begins at 12:00 p.m.
