OSHKOSH, Wis. – Senior
Jaden Boivin (Marinette, WI/Marinette) won by fall at 165 to swing momentum back in favor of the Pointers as the UW-Stevens Point wrestling team defeat UW-Oshkosh, 25-15, in a conference dual on Monday.
Results
Boivin pinned his opponent in the second period to stop UWO's comeback attempt. His six points gave UWSP a 17-9 advantage en route to the win.
Ben Vosters (Hatley, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood) began the night with a tech fall, which gave the Pointers an 11-0 lead after the Titans forfeited the 125 weight class.
Following Boivin's fall,
Dan Squires (Muskego, WI/Wisconsin Lutheran) won by tech fall to put UWSP up 22-9.
Dylan Diebitz (West Allis, WI/West Allis) completed the victory with an 8-3 decision over Jordan Lemcke.
The Pointers return to the mat on Wednesday, Nov. 29, with a dual at UW-Parkside. Action is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Kenosha.
