Lawrence Cornellier (Machesney Park, IL/Harlem) netted his second game-winning goal of the season in the second period, as the No. 5/6 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team defeated Lake Forest 3-1 Wednesday evening at the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

Ethan Strong (Kinmount, ON) and
Tanner Karty (Oklahoma City, OK) set up Cornellier for his 12th goal of the season, giving the Pointers a 2-1 lead, which proved to be the game-winner.
At the 4:51 mark of the first period,
B.J. Duffin (Red Deer, AB) opened the scoring for UW-Stevens Point (14-4-1) scoring his first career goal, giving the Pointers an early 1-0.
Midway through the first period Jack Lewis knotted the game at 1-1, scoring on the power-play for the Foresters (6-12-0).
At 13:08 of the third period, UWSP got an insurance goal from
Jono Davis (La Verne, CA) off an assist by
Alex Kromm (Penticton, BC), to go up 3-1.
UWSP went 0-3 on the power-play while Lake Forest went 1-2.
UW-Stevens Point outshot Lake Forest 26-20. Sophomore goaltender
Max Milosek (Lapeer, MI) made 19 saves, while his counterpart George Argiropoulos stopped 23 for Lake Forest.
