LA CROSSE, Wis. – A runner-up finish in the pole vault by
Samantha Haas (Waupun, WI/Waupun) was the best finish for the UW-Stevens Point women's outdoor track and field team at the NCAA Qualifier at UW-La Crosse's Veterans Memorial Stadium on Thursday.
ResultsHaas, an NCAA indoor qualifier and the WIAC outdoor champion in the pole vault, took second by clearing 3.50 meters (11'5.75"). Teammate
Audra Weis (Burlington, WI/Burlington) cleared 3.35 meters (10'11.75") and was fifth.
Kadie Flynn (Appleton, WI/North) posted top-six finishes in both the discus throw and hammer throw. Flynn's hammer throw of 48.60 meters (159'5") was good for third, while her discus throw of 41.40 meters (135'10") was sixth.
Megan School (Wittenberg, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood),
Jasmine Haines (East Troy, WI/East Troy),
Sarah Vils (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) and
Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel) ran fifth in the 4x400 relay and were less than second away from a top-three place (3:53.79).
In the 400 meter hurdles,
Aryn DeGrave (Big Bend, WI/Mukwonago) took sixth with a time of 67.98 seconds.
UW-Stevens Point will learn who has qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships after the conclusion of qualifying meets on Friday.
