WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's outdoor track and field team took third at the Rex Foster Invitational on Sunday, as
Audra Weis (Burlington, WI/Burlington) won the pole vault and
Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel) won the 800-meter run.
ResultsUW-Stevens Point accumulated 144 points, finishing just a point and a half behind second-place UW-Whitewater and seven points and a half points behind team champion UW-Oshkosh.
Audra Weis (Burlington, WI/Burlington) won the pole vault by clearing 3.38 meters (11'1").
Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel) and
Nicole Hanson (Clintonville, WI/Clintonville) finished first and third, respectively in the 800-meter run, posting times of 2:17.22 and 2:23.31.
Ana Breit (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Pacelli) posted a runner-up finish in the 1500-meter run, leading a pack of four runners to finish in the top-6 of the event. Breit finished with a time of 4:48.1.
Jacklyn Butler (Oshkosh, WI/West) posted a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:07.02.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Mathes,
Kathy Derks (Greenville, WI/Hortonville),
Megan School (Wittenberg, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood) and
Sarah Vils (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) posted a second place finish in the event, posting a time of 4:05.43.
Stormy Gerndt (Mountain, WI/Suring) finished as runner-up in the high jump, clearing 1.57 meters (5' 1.75").
Laura Ogg (Hibbing, MN/Hibbing),
Bailey Paskey (St. Charles, IL/North) and
Jamie Watry (Bonduel, WI/Bonduel) finished fourth through sixth by clearing 1.42 meters (4' 7.75").
The Pointers compete at the Platteville Invitational on Saturday, April 12.
