Women's indoor finishes fourth at 2014 WIAC championships

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's indoor track & field team collected 79 points to finish fourth at the 2014 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) championships, hosted by UW-Whitewater.

Highlights from the day two of the event included:

Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel) finished fourth in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:16.41.

Ana Breit (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Pacelli) followed up her runner-up finish in the mile with a runner-up finish in the 3000-meter, finishing in a time of 10:01.98.

The 4x200 meter relay team of Hannah School (Wittenburg, WI/Wittenburg-Birnamwood), Abigail Clement, Jacklyn Butler (Oshkosh, WI/West) and Jasmine Haines (East Troy, WI/East Troy) finished fourth with a time of 1:44.97.

Maggie Martin (Chilton, WI/Chilton) and Kadie Flynn (Appleton, WI/North) finished 4-5 in the weight throw with tosses of 16.14 and 15.94 meters, respectively.

The Pointer return to the track on Saturday, March 8 with the NCAA "National Qualifier" meet, hosted at the Multi-Activity Center in Stevens Point.
