Burke sets school record for second week in a row, UWSP tops Pointer Multi Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – For the second week in a row, Shannon Burke (Sussex, WI/Hamilton) set the school record in the pole vault as the UW-Stevens Point women's indoor track and field team finished first of nine teams at the Pointer Multi Invite.

At the Tadd Metzger Invite at Carthage College last weekend, Burke set the school record by clearing 3.55 meters (11'6 6.4") but she cleared 3.66 meters (12') on Saturday.
 
The Pointers finished with 152.90 points, ahead of second-place UW-Eau Claire who finished with 125 points. UW-Stevens Point has finished first at its last three meets.
 
Jasmine Haines (East Troy, WI/East Troy) won the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.49 seconds.
 
Ana Breit (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Pacelli), who finished second in the one mile run last weekend, won the 800 meter dash this weekend, posting a time of 2:19.26.
 
Lauren Dilley (Middleton, WI/Middleton) posted a victory in the 5,000-meter run in 18:39.55.
 
Kelsey Laska (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah Community) was second in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:46.52.
 
UWSP's 'A' relay won the 4x200 relay (1:51.83) and the 4x400 'A' relay took second (4:03.91). The 'A' distance medley relay was also victorious in 12:17.32.
 
Megan School (Wittenberg, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood) won the long jump with a jump of 5.14 meters.
 
Maggie Martin (Chilton, WI/Chilton) took second in the weight throw with a toss of 16.68 meters.
 
The Pointers run at the WIAC Quad Meet hosted by UW-Oshkosh next weekend.
