STEVENS POINT, Wis. –
Shannon Burke (Sussex, WI/Hamilton) won the pole vault for the fourth time in five meets to lead the UW-Stevens Point women's indoor track and field team to a third-place finish at the Eastbay/Pointer Invite on Saturday at the Multi-Activity Center.
Results
Burke cleared 3.67 meters (12', ½") to win the event, as UW-Stevens Point finished with 124.16 points in the 12-team field. UW-Eau Claire won the meet with 147.33 points, followed by UW-Oshkosh with 146 points.
The Pointers posted two other top-two finishes in the meet.
Megan School (Wittenberg, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood) took second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.20.
The distance medley relay team of
Kelsey Laska (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah Community),
Aryn DeGrave (Big Bend, WI/Mukwonago),
Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel) and
Ana Breit (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Pacelli) ran to a second-place finish in 12:12.35.
UW-Stevens Point competes at the WIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships next weekend.
