KENOSHA, Wis. –
Shannon Burke (Sussex, WI/Hamilton) posted a new school record in the pole vault as the UW-Stevens Point women's indoor track and field team finished first of eight teams at the 2014 Tadd Metzger Invite, hosted by Carthage College at the Tarble Athletic Center.

Burke set a new school record on her way to victory in the pole vault, clearing 3.55 meters (11' 6.4").
Other highlights for the Pointers included:
Tiara Rose (Shiocton, WI/Hortonville) posted a victory for the Pointers in the triple jump, finishing with a jump of 10.55 meters.
Maggie Martin (Chilton, WI/Chilton) finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 15.9 meters.
Ana Breit (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Pacelli) finished second in the one mile run, posting a time of 5:06.08.
Hannah School (Wittenburg, WI/Wittenburg-Birnamwood) and Abigail Clement finished 2-3 in the finals of the 55-meter run, posting identical 7.53 second times.
Jasmine Haines (East Troy, WI/East Troy) and Clement finished 3-4 in the 200-meter run. Haines led the duo with a time of 26.81. Haines also finished third in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:00.65.
Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel) led a trio of Pointers who finished in the top-four of the 600-meter run. Mathes posted a time of 1:38.91 to take the top spot in the event while
Nicole Hanson (Clintonville, WI/Clintonville) and
Kathy Derks (Greenville, WI/Hortonville) finished 3-4 with times of 1:40.46 and 1:42.17.
The Pointers return home to host the Point Multi Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8 at the Multi-Activity Center.
