The Pointers (13-2, 6-0 WIAC) took a 39-24 lead into halftime, but Jordan Giordana (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) pushed the UWSP advantage to a game-high 20 points when he hit a three-pointer in the first minute of the second half to make the score 44-24.

The Blue Devils went on a 9-0 run to cut the Pointer lead to 44-33 with 15 minutes remaining in the second half, but that was as close as Stout would get.

A pair of free throws by Clayton Heuer (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln/UW-Green Bay) with just under 12 minutes remaining gave UWSP another 20-point lead at 53-33.

Heuer and Hass each finished with a game-high 16 points.

DeVon Jackson (Milwaukee/Rufus King/Williston State) added 10 points, marking the fourth consecutive game in which he has scored in double figures off the bench.

The Pointers defense held Stout to just 30.9 percent shooting from the field.

UWSP shot 53.1 percent from the floor and committed only seven turnovers.

Chris Hortman led the Blue Devils in scoring with 15 points while Alex Oman followed with 14.

The Pointers next host UW-La Crosse Saturday, Jan. 12 at 3 p.m.
