STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The No. 7 UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team remained undefeated in conference play and at home when it beat No. 13 UW-Whitewater Wednesday night, 67-57.

Joe Ritchay (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln) hit a three pointer early in the first half to give the Pointers (17-2, 10-0 WIAC) their largest lead of the period at 11-4, but the Warhawks (14-4, 7-3 WIAC) battled back as a 7-2 run gave Whitewater a 25-24 lead with 5:08 remaining in the half.

Alex Richard (Spring Green, WI/River Valley) late in the first half tied the score entering halftime, 33-33.
The Warhawks claimed a 45-42 lead with 7:40 remaining in the second half when KJ Evans hit a fast break layup, but
Jordan Giordana (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) connected from behind the arc to knot the game at 45.
The Pointers and Warhawks exchanged baskets on each of their next possessions and were even at 47-47 with 5:16 remaining.

Austin Ryf (Winneconne, WI/Winneconne) found
Trevor Hass (New London, WI/New London/Augustana (SD)) on a backdoor cut for the easy layup to put UWSP on top 49-47 with 4:31 remaining.
The Pointers maintained the lead from that point on.
A three pointer by Hass and a jump hook from
Clayton Heuer (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln/UW-Green Bay) on the baseline put UWSP on top 56-48 with 1:44 remaining.
The Pointers shot 10-for-10 from the free throw line in the final 1:08 of regulation, including 6-for-6 shooting at the line by Ryf.
Ritchay led the Pointers in scoring with 15 points and was followed by Heuer with 13 and Hass with 10.
Darnell Harris and Evans each scored 14 points for the Warhawks.
UWSP shot 9-for-17 (52.9 percent) from behind the arc while Whitewater shot just 4-for-19 (21.1 percent).
The Pointers next host UW-Superior Saturday, Jan. 26 at 3p.m. UWSP is 8-0 at home this season.
