EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team placed 17th after a weekend of action at the 2012 Georgianni Memorial UW-Eau Claire Invite at Mill Run and Wild Ridge Golf Courses.

In the tournament's opening round, the Pointers fired a 395 (+107) in the first action of the fall.
 
McKenna Prestigiacomo (Madison, WI/LaFollette) led the Pointers on day one, tying for 47th after shooting an opening-round 88 (+16).
 
The Pointers fired a 370 (+78) on day two and finished in 17th place overall.
 
Prestigiacomo led the Pointers on day two and tied for 10th after shooting a second-round 76 (+19).
 
Elsewhere for the Pointers, Kayla Johnson (Shawano, WI/Shawano) tied for 48th with a second-round 89, Olivia Scheifelbein tied for 84th after a second round 92 and Natalie Halverson (Hermantown, MN/Hermantown) finished in 108th place after shooting a second-round 113.
 
The Pointers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 8 with a two-day tournament at UW-Oshkosh.
