LA CROSSE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's track & field team posted an eighth-place finish on Friday afternoon at the Esten Classic Invite, hosted by UW-La Crosse.

Highlights from the meet included:

Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel) finished fifth in the 400-meter dash, posting a time of 60.19.

Kelsey Laska (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah Community) finished seventh in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:54.94.

Nicole Hillman (Marshall, WI/Marshall) finished seventh in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:40.61.

Alexa Lewin (Appleton, WI/Freedom) and Brittiny Stapleton (Wittenburg, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood) qualified for the finals in the 100-meter hurdles and Lewin finished third with a time of 15.24. Stapleton finished fifth in a time of 16.17.

Cassie Scott (Shiocton, WI/Shiocton) placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 68.92.

The 4x400 relay team finished fourth with a time of 4:04.54.

Leanna Rose (Rothschild, WI/D.C. Everest) finished tied for second in the pole vault, clearing 3.31 meters (10' 10.25”).

The Pointers return to action on April 26-28 at the Drake Relays in Iowa.
