PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Against one of the most talented fields of competitors the Pointers will see all year, the UW-Stevens Point women's track and field team posted a fifth place finish at the UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Top finishers from the day included
Erin Kline (Casco, WI/Luxemburg-Casco), who won the 100-meter hurdles, earning the top time in the prelims (14.45) and then posted a 14.39 in the finals, good for 10 team points. Kline also posted a fifth place finish in the women's high jump, clearing 1.60 meters (5' 3”).
Kelly Haen (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) finished in fourth place, posting a time of 17:02.79 in the 5000-meter run.
Hannah School (Wittenburg, WI/Wittenburg-Birnamwood) posted an eighth-place finish in the women's 100-meter dash, qualifying for the finals out of a field of 50 runners with a time of 12.63 and ran a 12.69 in the finals.
Kristin Mathes (Kiel, WI/Kiel) posted a sixth-place finish in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:19.68, good for three team points.
Nicole Hillman (Marshall, WI/Marshall),
Lauren Dilley (Middleton, WI/Middleton),
Nikki Bruhn (Marshfield, WI/Marshfield) and
Cassandra Caine (Dodgeland, WI/Dodgeland) finished 2-5 in the 10,000-meter run, with Hillman posting a time of 40:11.26.
Cassie Scott (Shiocton, WI/Shiocton) finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:07.84.
Leanna Rose (Rothschild, WI/D.C. Everest) finished third in the women's pole vault, clearing 3.46 meters (11' 4 3/4”).
Amber Nabbefeld (Kimberly, WI/Kimberly) finished third in the discus with a toss of 39.83 meters (130' 8”).
Amy Krzykowski (Junction City, WI/SPASH) posted a 45.41 meter (152' 3”) toss in the women's hammer throw, good for a fourth-place finish.
The Pointers return to action on April 20-21 at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. at the Meet of Champions.
