MARQUETTE, Mich. – Three Pointers finished the day with three RBIs and senior
Kelly Arndt (Ashwaubenon, WI/Ashwaubenon) hit a go-ahead home run as the UW-Stevens Point softball team opened the season with a pair of victories in the debut of head coach
Jill Millis.
The Pointers tallied a 7-3 victory in the opener against the College of St. Scholastica and closed out the day with a 7-6 victory over the University of Dubuque.
Alicia Hahnemann (Appleton, WI/West),
Bekah Rennicke (Mequon, WI/Homestead) and
Katie Krueger (Plover, WI/SPASH) each finished the day with three hits.
Junior
Michelle Jones (Madison, WI/La Follette) earned both victories on the day, striking out six in 12 2/3 innings of work.
UW-Stevens Point closes out the Finlandia Dome Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 26 with a pair of games against Simpson (Iowa) and Marian (Wis.).
