STORM LAKE, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team shot over 50 percent from the floor en route to defeating Buena Vista University 80-68 Saturday night.

UWSP (4-0) never trailed for the entire game by shooting 53.6 percent from the field and connecting on 14 of 15 free-throw attempts.
Clayton Heuer (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln/UW-Green Bay) hit a jump shot with 13 seconds remaining in the first half to cap a 7-0 run as the Pointers entered halftime with a 40-30 lead.
A three-pointer by the Beavers' Alex Savage cut the Pointers' lead to just four points less than four minutes into the second half, but UWSP went on a 10-0 run to build its lead to 54-40.
Tyler Tillema (Randolph, WI/Randolph) led the Pointers with 22 points while Heuer and
Joe Ritchay (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln) followed with 19 and 15, respectively.
UWSP travels to UW-Superior Saturday, Dec. 1 for its first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game of the season. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
