EAU CLAIRE –
Mary Welch (Madison, WI/West) shot a two-day 156 (+11) to take home the top individual medalist award at the 2011 Georgianni Memorial UW-Eau Claire Invite at Wild Ridge Golf Course in Eau Claire, Wis. As a team, UW-Stevens Point finished 13th of 21 teams.
As a team the Pointers finished with a team total 701.
Individually, McKenna Prestigiacomo finished tied for 18th with a 166 (+21), Kayla Johnson (Shawano, WI/Shawano) finished tied for 82nd with a score of 189 (+44), Olivia Schiefelbein (Johnston, IA/Johnston) finished tied for 85th with a score of 192 (+47) and newcomer Ashley Schmidt finished tied for 92nd with a score of 196 (+51).
Gustavus Adolphus took home the team title with a score of 653 (+73). St. Olaf, UW-Eau Claire, Carleton and Illinois Wesleyan rounded out the top-5.
