NORMAL, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team tied for a fifth place finish in the 26 team field at the 2011 Illinois Wesleyan Fall Invitational at Ironwood Golf Course over the weekend.

Mary Welch (Madison, WI/West) posted a 10-over 154 at the two day tournament to finish tied for fifth at the event that featured over 130 golfers from around the Midwest.

Elsewhere, McKenna Prestigiacomo (Madison, WI/LaFollette) finished tied for 11th with a two day 159 (+15). Ashley Schmidt finished tied for 28th with a 19-over 163, Kayla Johnson (Shawano, WI/Shawano) finished tied for 83rd with a 177 (+33) and Olivia Schiefelbein (Johnston, IA/Johnston) finished tied for 99th with a two-day 181 (+37).

The Pointers next travel to the UW-Whitewater Invite on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24.
