OSHKOSH – Six UW-Stevens Point track and field athletes finished in first place as the Pointers collected 114.66 teams points on their way to a second place finish at the 2011 UW-Oshkosh Invitational at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Much like the week before, weather again dominated the meet, forcing many athletes to withdraw from events.
Highlights from the day for the Pointers included:
Erin Kline (Casco, WI/Luxemburg-Casco) and Sara Kline (Casco/Luxemberg-Casco) posted the top two times in the prelims of the 100 meter hurdles with times of 15.26 and 15.40, respectively but withdrew from the finals due to rain.
Sarah Glunn (Arborvitae/Lakeland Union) finished the 1500 meter run in the best time of the day, 4:52.86.
Hannah School (Wittenburg, WI/Wittenburg-Birnamwood) and Jasmine Haines (East Troy, WI/East Troy) finished 1-2 in the 200 meter dash finals, posting times of 27.05 and 27.38, respectively.
Jessica Litsheim (Appleton, WI/East) posted the top distance in the women's long jump with a distance of 4.95 meters (16 feet, 3 inches).
Laura Ogg (Hibbing, MN/Hibbing) had the top height in the women's high jump, clearing 1.53 meters (5 feet, .25 inches).
Claire Roberts (Oakfield/Horace Mann) and Kelly Haen (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) finished 2-3 in the 5000 meter run, posting times of 18:03.06 and 18:10.26, respectively.
Shaun Krueger (Kiel/Kiel) had the top time in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 39:24.95.
UW-Stevens Point returns to the tack on April 28-30 at the Drake Relays.
