Women's Indoor Takes Two at Platteville Invite

PLATTEVILLE – The UW-Stevens Point women's indoor track and field posted two first place finishes on Saturday afternoon at the 2011 UW-Platteville Invite. No team scores were kept at the meet. 

Kelly Haen (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) finished with a time of 5:10.15 in the one mile run, the events top time. Erin Kline (Casco, WI/Luxemburg-Casco) bested sister Sara in the finals of the 55 meter hurdles, posting a time of 8.49. Sarah finished third in the event with her time of 8.62. 

Elsewhere, Claire Roberts (Oakfield/Horace Mann) and Sarah Glunn (Arborvitae/Lakeland Union) finished 4-5 in the 800 meter run. Robert's time of 2:13.67 was one of four times that smashed the old fieldhouse record of 2:14.44.

The 4x200 meter relay team also posted a second place finish on the afternoon with their time of 1:49.38. 

Just two weeks remain in the short indoor season before the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships the weekend of Feb. 25-26. The Pointers return to action Saturday, Feb. 19 at home in the Pointer/Eastbay Invitational.
