OSHKSOH – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team captured the 2010 UW-Oshkosh Invitational team title on Sunday and with it took home the top three individual medalist honors as the Pointers fired a field-best 674 (+90).

The Pointers were paced by Danelle Olson (Detroit Lakes, MN/Detroit Lakes), who shot an 82 both days of the invite to outpace the field by three strokes.

Mary Welch (Madison, WI/West) followed close behind with a two day 167 (+21) to finish second. McKenna Pretigiacomo matched Welch's score to complete the sweep of the tournament's top three spots, shooting an 83 on the final day.

Elsewhere, Olivia Schiefelbein (Johnston, IA/Johnston) shot a two-day 179 (+33) to finish in 14th and Kayla Johnson (Shawano, WI/Shawano) shot a 181 (+35) to secure 15th place.

The first place finish for the Pointers is the first since Securing the Stevens Point Invitational title in October of 2009.

UW-Stevens Point will return to the links on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 18-19 when they travel to the Illinois Wesleyan Invite in Bloomington, Ill.
