WHITEWATER- The UW-Stevens Point women's track and field team took home four top-five finishes in the Rex Foster Warhawk Open on Saturday, but were not able to overcome the dominating performances by the UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater teams.
UW-Oshkosh took home first with 207.5 total points and UW-Oshkosh placed second with 180. UW-Stevens Point placed ninth with 25.5.
In the field events,
Amy Hibbard (Green Bay)'s mark of 10.59 meters in the triple jump was enough to land her fourth place.
Bethany Utecht (Fredonia) also placed fourth in the javelin throw with a total distance of 32.01 meters.
Allison Wolter (Kaukauna) ran to a fourth place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:45.09.
Shaunie Krueger (Kiel) placed fifth in the 5000 meter run with a final time of 19:09.66.
UW-Stevens Point will now regroup and travel to Oshkosh on Saturday, May 1st when they will compete in the Oshkosh Qualifier.
