WHITEWATER – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team shot a 344 on Friday afternoon on their way to a second place finish at the UW-Whitewater Spring Fling. Jessica Urban (Hartland/Arrowhead) paced the Pointers with a second place finish, one shot off the lead.

UW-Whitewater fired the low score of the day, shooting a 325 to outpace the field. Carthage College finished in third, Elmhurst College finished fourth and Carroll University finished fifth.

Urban went shot-for-shot with top finisher Chelsea Davis of UW-Whitewater on the front nine, but fell one stroke behind Davis' pace to finish with a 79.

Elsewhere for thee Pointers, Danelle Olson (Detroit Lakes, MN/Detroit Lakes) finished tied for 11th with her 18 hole total of 87. Mary Donohue (Portage/Portage) also fired an 87.

Kayla Johnson (Shawano, WI/Shawano) shot a 91 on the day, tied for 20th place and Olivia Schiefelbein (Johnston, IA/Johnston) finished tied for 25th with a 94.

The Pointers return to action for the final meet of the spring at the UW-Eau Claire Invite May 1-2 in Eau Claire.
