PLATTEVILLE – The Pointer women's track and field team captured two event titles and a host of top-five finishes on the day at the 2010 UW-Platteville Outdoor Meet on Saturday afternoon. No team scores were kept at the event.

In the field events, Bethany Utech (Fredonia/Northern Ozaukee) took home the javelin throw championships with her toss of 38.13 meters (125'01”).

The Pointers 4x100 meter relay team finished tied for first with UW-Oshkosh, as both teams posted a time of 49.58 in the event.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth Caine (Plover/SPASH) finished third in the women's 100 meter dash finals after posting 12.15 second time in the prelims, which was the events fastest time. She also posted a 25.37 second time in the 200 meter finals, good for second place.

Kathleen Folbrecht (Jefferson/Jefferson) finished second in the 400 meter run, posting a time of 58.12.
Claire Roberts (Oakfield/Horace Mann) finished third in the 1500 meter run, finishing with a time of 4 minutes, 43.13 seconds.

Erin Kline (Casco, WI/Luxemburg-Casco) and sister Sara finished 2-3 in the 100 meter hurdles prelims, but it was Sara who finished second in the finals, posting a time of 14.87. Erin finished third with a 15.01.

The 4x400 relay team posted a second place finish, posting a time of 3:58.94.

The Pointers return to action next weekend at the Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Ill.
