STEVENS POINT – Danelle Olson (Detroit Lakes, MN/Detroit Lakes) fired a two day 162 to pace the UW-Stevens Point women's golf team to a second place finish at the 2010 Mad Dawg Fall Invite at the Stevens Point Country Club.

UW-Whitewater took home the team title at the event and the top individual spot as Melissa Ellis fired a two day 159 (+13).

Olson finished in fourth place in the six team, 35 player field.

Elsewhere for the Pointers, Mary Welch finished in sixth place with a 166 (+20), McKenna Prestigiacomo finished tied for seventh with a 168 and Kayla Johnson finished tied for 16th with a 180.

Olivia Schiefelbein, who on the tournament's opening day recorded her first-ever hole-in-one on the par three 147 yard fourth hole with an eight iron, finished tied for 21st with a two day 188.

Individually, Lindsey Beals finished 23rd with a 189 and Rochelle Dyreson finished tied for 26th with a 194.

The Pointers return to the links Oct. 8-10 at Bull's Eye Country Club in Wisconsin Rapids for the 2010 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

The Pointers, who won back-to-back titles in 2007 and 2008, finished third last season behind UW-Eau Claire and UW-Whitewater.
