WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team carded a 330 on day three of the 2010 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, finishing in second place, just 15 strokes off the pace set by back-to-back champion UW-Eau Claire.
Danelle Olson (Detroit Lakes, MN/Detroit Lakes) finished as the top performer for the Pointers, carding a final round 79 to finish with a three day 243, good for a second place tie.
McKenna Prestigiacomo turned in the low round of the championships for the Pointers with a 78 on Sunday, moving her up to a sixth place tie.
Mary Welch turned in an 81 on the final day for a share of 10th place,
Kayla Johnson finished in sole possession of 23rd place and
Olivia Schiefelbein finished tied for 37th.
UW-Eau Claire's Sara Mattes finished as the conference's individual champion and the Blugolds placed three golfers in the top four of the championship.
UW-Whitewater, who held the team lead after day one, fell off the pace and finished in third place, followed by UW-Platteville, UW-Stout, UW-Oshkosh and UW-River Falls.
