PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team maintained their second place position in the standings at the 2009 NCAA Division III Championships, shooting a day three 320. Methodist University remains in first place, extending their lead over the Pointers to 19 strokes heading into the tournament final day.
The Pointers now boast a team score of 960 (322-318-320) while Methodist leads with a 941 (321-310-310). Gustavus Adolphus sits in third with a team score of 972 (322-324-326). Southwestern University is in fourth with 975 (327-318-330) and UW-Eau Claire rounds out the top five with a 981 (312-340-329).
Individually,
Jessica Urban (Hartland) remains in second place, shooting a day three 75, giving her a three day total of 224. Methodist's Susan Martin leads the field with a three day 217 (73-71-73).
Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha) sits tied for 26th with a three-day 245.
Nacheynah Green (Poynette) also checks in with a three day 245 after shooting an 81 on Friday.
The championship concludes on Saturday with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. on the Wanamaker Course at PGA Village. To teams, including the Pointers, will tee off between 12:50 and 1:30 p.m.
