Top-Seeded Pointers Tied for Fifth after Day One of Championships

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team sits tied for fifth place after day one of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at the PGA Golf Club Wanamaker course in Florida.

As a team, the Pointers fired an opening round 322 (+34). Jessica Urban (Hartland) shot an opening round 75 (+3) and sits tied for fourth individually. Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha) shot a 79 (+7) on the tournament's first day, placing tied for 19th.

UW-Eau Claire, who received an at-large bid to the championship, sits in the lead after shooting an opening round 312 (+24). St. Lawrence University is in second while defending champion Methodist University and DePauw University are tied for third.

The Pointers return to action on Thursday at the four day championship event.
