BECKER, Minn. - The UW-Stevens Point golf team shot a two-day 639 to finish second at the University of St. Thomas Invitational at the Pebble Creek Golf Club over the weekend.
Gustavus Adolphus took home tournament's top spot, finishing +46 over par, shooting a two-day 622, edging the Pointers by 17 strokes. UW-Eau Claire finished in third, University of St. Thomas finished fourth and the College of St. Benedict finished fifth.
Individually,
Jessica Urban (Hartland) shot a nine over 153, including a day two 73 to finish in third place.
Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha) finished at +15, good for 7th and
Nacheynah Green (Poynette) finished tied for eighth, shooting a two day 161 (+17).
Rounding out the field for the Pointers,
Danelle Olson (Detroit Lakes, MN) finished tied for 17th, shooting a two-day 167 (+23) and
Amanda Dlugopolski (Appleton) finished tied for 27th with a 171 (+27).
The Pointers return to action on May 2-3 when they travel to the Eau Claire Spring invite at Wild Ridge Golf Club in Eau Claire for their final tune-up before the NCAA Division III Championships May 13-16 in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
