Pointers Capture Carlton Invite Championship

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team fired an opening round 326 and added a second round 322 on their way to their sixth first place finish of the season, taking the Carleton Invitational title by six strokes this past weekend at the Northfield Golf Club.

Junior Jessica Urban (Hartland) led the Pointers, shooting a tournament-low 76 on day one, followed by a day two 81 for a two day total of 157, +13. Urban finished the tournament in second place, just one stroke off the leader, Jordan Matheson of Macalester College.

Elsewhere for the Pointers, Danelle Olson (Detroit Lakes, MN) finished tied for fourth, shooting a two-day 162 (+18) including a day two 76. Nacheynah Green (Poynette) finished tied for ninth, shooting a two-day 166 (+22). Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha) finished at +23 for the tournament, good for 11th place and Amanda Dlugopolski (Appleton) finished tied for 15th with a two-day 171 (+27).

The Pointers return to action next weekend at the St. Thomas Invitational at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker, Minn.
