Round Two Scores
JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team overcame an opening day deficit of 15 strokes to jump into the lead after day two at the Jekyll Island Collegiate golf tournament in Jekyll Island, Ga.
The Pointers hold a four stroke advantage over Southwestern University and a 15 stroke lead over the third place Titans of Illinois Wesleyan at the end of day two.
UWSP fired a second day 316, a tournament low, catapulting into the lead. The low score of the day was turned in by
Nacheynah Green (Poynette), who fired a 76, the tournament's best score to date. Elsewhere,
Amanda Dlugopolski (Appleton) fired a 79,
Jessica Urban (Hartland) an 80 and
Danelle Olson (Detroit Lakes, MN) an 81.
Michelle Pascavis (Waukesha) shot a second day 82.
Individually, Urban is currently tied for third with a two day total of 163 while Pascavis is tied for sixth with a score of 164 in the field of 128 golfers. Elsewhere, Olson is tied for 13th, Green tied for 15th and Dlugopolski is tied for 20th.
The Pointers will try and hold off the other 21 teams when they return to play on the tournament's final day, Sunday, March 22.
