Against St. Norbert the left-hander threw seven scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out seven. Against UW-La Crosse, Messenger threw 6.1 innings, allowing seven hits and one earned run. On the week, the freshman posted an ERA of 0.68, striking out nine and holding opponents to a .200 batting average.
