Jantz led the Pointers to a road victory over Hamline University (Minn.), 7-2, with a comeback 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 win at No. 1 singles. In doubles play, she paired with teammate Jordan Scharf for an 8-4 victory at No. 1 singles.

Ashley Kopp (Volleyball)
Kopp picked up her second-consecutive all-tournament team honor to begin the season and added a pair of double-doubles. She posted double-figures kills in three matches and her nine kills against CUW were a match-high. Kopp had double-digits digs in three matches as well. In Wednesday’s WIAC/NACC Quad, she posted 18 kills and 19 digs in leading UWSP to a pair of sweeps. Friday, she had a match-high nine kills in a sweep of CUW. Then on Saturday, Kopp had double-doubles in both matches as UWSP capped a busy week with a four-set and five-set match. For the week, Kopp had 12 blocks, seven aces and three assists.
Gabri Gaines (Cross Country)
Gaines led the Pointers women with a sixth-place finish just outside of the top five with a time of 23:36.0 at the Ken Weidt Invitational hosted by Concordia University (Wis.) on Sept. 9. Gaines set a personal record as the Pointers finished in third with 65 points resting behind host Concordia (Wis.) and Carthage College.
Jordan Scharf (Women's Tennis)
Scharf took two victories this past week at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles against Hamline. In doubles play, her and teammate Tristin Jantz racked up their second win on the season together taking an 8-4 victory. In singles, Scharf would be efficient taking Hamline's No. 2 singles player, Natalie Randall, in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 helping UWSP move to 3-0 on the season.
