Wilichowski won all four of her singles matches last week. She opened the week with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Marian. On Thursday, she was the only Pointer to win a singles match at UW-Oshkosh, winning via tiebreaker 6-4, 7-6 (6-4). Then on Saturday, she was the deciding point with a 6-4, 7-5 win as the Pointers beat Dubuque, 5-4. She capped her week with a 6-1, 6-0 win at UW-River Falls.
Other Nominees:
Elizabeth Wilichowski and Anna Dobbe: Wilichowski and Dobbe went undefeated on the week as a doubles duo. They defeated Marian, 8-3, to open the week on Wednesday. Thursday at UW-Oshkosh, pair prevailed, 8-6, as the only UWSP doubles pair with a win. Then on Saturday, Dobbe and Wilichowski beat Dubuque, 8-1, and finished the week with an 8-5 win over UW-River Falls.
Nora Hargett: Hargett picked up a pair of assists in UWSP’s two matches last week. She assisted on the Pointers’ go-ahead goal in the 77th minute against Augustana to tie for the team lead. Then on Sunday, she assisted on the Pointers’ 27th minute goal, her team-high fifth helper of the season, which put UWSP in front. Hargett also took seven shots on the week putting four on net.
April Gehl: Gehl capped another solid week with a career-high 25 kills in the win over Augsburg on Friday. She added 14 digs for her second double-double of the week and eighth in the last 10 matches. Her double-double on the week came with 10 kills and 10 digs at Concordia (WI) on Wednesday. In Friday’s other match, Gehl recorded 16 kills with eight digs and four blocks in a straight-set win over Martin Luther College. Gehl compiled 51 kills, 32 digs and seven blocks over the three matches last week.
