University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point Athletics

Kris Ficken joined the Athletic Training staff at UW-Stevens Point in 2013.  Prior to UW-Stevens Point, Kris spent 15 years as an athletic trainer at the University of South Carolina (1992-1994), Stanford University (1994-1994) and Vanderbilt University (1990-1992, 1997-2004). 

Kris also spent time in healthcare administration, managing Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinics at Washington University in St. Louis, Ministry Medical Group in Stevens Point and Marshfield Clinic in Wausau. During that time, she also served as an athletic trainer for area high schools and community events. 

Kris received a Master’s Degree in Health Promotion and Exercise Science from Vanderbilt University in 1992 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training and Health Education from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1989. 

She resides in Plover with her husband, Dave and three children, Rebeka, Tigist and Abush.
