Bestul, a native of Tilleda, Wisconsin, joined UWSP in October 2024. He primarily works with women’s volleyball, men’s wrestling, track & field and cheer. He provides medical coverage to UWSP athletes as a part of a team of athletic trainers employed by Marshfield Clinic Health System.
Bestul graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from UW-Stevens Point in 2019. He went on to earn his Master of Science in Exercise Science- Sports Psychology from Pennsylvania Western University in 2021.
Prior to UWSP, from 2020-2024, Bestul provided Athletic Training services to the Iola-Scandinavia School District and PJ Jacobs Junior High. From 2019-2020, Bestul provided Athletic Training services to the D.C. Everest School District.
In 2018, Bestul completed a season-long internship with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters of the Northwoods Collegiate Summer Baseball League. In 2017-2018, Bestul completed a season-long internship with the Wausau RiverWolves (now the Wausau Cyclones) of the NA3HL.
Bestul resides in the Town of Stockton with his wife, Jami, and two children, Grayson and Brooks. In his free time, Bestul enjoys woodworking, fishing, camping, hiking and watching his children play sports.
