MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team opened the 2026-27 season at the Cornell Invitational on Sunday.
In singles play,
Jacob Mano (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) went 2-0 in Flight D with 6-3, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-3 wins.
Anthony Janes (Bismarck, N.D./Legacy) and
Dawson Froemming (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) both got a win in Flight A.
Ben Temple (Rockford, Ill./Lutheran) and
Jacob Stinski (Oshkosh, Wis./West) each won a match in Flight B.
Augie Nelson (Sleepy Hollow, Ill./Jacobs) got a win in Flight C.
Nicholas Miller (Neenah, Wis./St. Mary's Catholic) and
Wyatt Anderson (Milwaukee, Wis./Rufus King) got one win each in Flight E. In Flight F, Braeden Sinden and
Cooper Meyer (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul) each won once.
Janes and Froemming got a doubles win over Central in Flight A. Stinski and Temple defeated host Cornell in Flight B.
Ayden Knuth (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) and Nelson got a double win against Loras in Flight C.
UWSP duos Miller and Anderson in Flight E and Sinden and Meyer in Flight F got doubles wins against Loras.
The Pointers will play the first dual of the season at UW-Superior on Saturday (Sept. 12) at 11:00 a.m.
