CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (4-4-0) posted a 3-2 comeback win at Coe (5-5-1) on Saturday afternoon.
Connor Urban (Waukesha, Wis./West) gave the Pointers a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute with an unassisted tally.
Late in the first half, Coe was awarded a penalty kick and converted in the 44th minute to send the match to break, tied at 1-1.
The Kohawks put the Pointers in a 2-1 hole in the 51st minute.
UWSP kept knocking until
Noah Johnson (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) scored an equalizer in the 69th minute. Urban picked up an assist on the goal.
In the 87th minute,
Jaxon Buckley (Kingsford, Mich./Kingsford) put the Pointers back on top. His eventual game-winner was assisted on by
Kiki Jany (Muskego, Wis./Muskego), Jany's first collegiate point.
Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) made three saves in the win. Coe goalkeeper William Shaw had nine saves.
The Pointers will play Ripon at home on Tuesday (Sept. 29). Kick off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
