WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (2-1-3) recorded its fourth shutout of the season in a 0-0 draw against Linfield (2-0-1).
UWSP goalkeeper
Ainsley Katte (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) made three saves in the first half. The Pointers earned a corner kick in the 38th minute but were unable to get a shot on goal in the first 45 minutes.
Katte had two more saves in the second half to complete the shutout.
UWSP got its first shot on goal in the 86th minute by
Sofia Jimenez (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy).
Piper Hanley (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) ripped two shots on net in the 87th and 88th minute to no avail.
The Pointers return to Wisconsin to host Buena Vista on Friday (Sept. 18) at 2:00 p.m. at Point Soccer Bowl.
