WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (2-1-2) settled for a 1-1 draw at Whitman (1-1-2) on Friday night in the first match of the weekend out west.
Christa Borchardt (New Berlin, Wis./West) and
Piper Hanley (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) each tested the Whitman goalkeeper within the first 13 minutes of the match.
In the 19th minute, UWSP was awarded a penalty kick. Borchardt stepped to the spot and converted the PK for a 1-0 UWSP lead.

Jocelyn Blahnik (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) needed just one save to hold the 1-0 lead going into the half. It extended her season-opening shutout streak to 270 minutes.
In the 81st minute, Whitman tied the match after a corner kick.
Kayce Wadas (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) had UWSP's lone shot on goal in the second half in the 88th minute.
Ainsley Katte (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) made three saves in the second half for UWSP.
The Pointers will take on Linfield on Whitman's campus on Saturday (Sept. 12). Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. PT.
