CHICAGO, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team improved to 19-3 and won its seventh-straight match with a 5-2 win at North Park on Sunday.
Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) rallied to win in three sets at No. 2 singles, 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-3.
Ellie Aitken (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) came up just short in three sets at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
Annie Wierzbicki (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) got a straight-sets win at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-1.
Allie Brosteau (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) shut out her opponent at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Brooklyn Steier got a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.
In double play, the Pointers swept play to earn the team point.
Chloe Regal (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) and Wierzbicki got a 6-1 win at No. 1. Jantz and Aitken earned a 6-2 win at No. 2. Steier and Brosteau got a shutout win at No. 3, 6-0.
The Pointers will travel to Iowa on Sunday (Apr. 19) to face Cornell and Wartburg at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
