CHICAGO, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team won its fifth straight match and improved to 10-1 on the spring with a 7-0 win at Illinois Tech on Sunday.
The Pointers swept singles play with relative ease.
Chloe Regal (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) took No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
Annie Wierzbicki (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) and
Ellie Aitken (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) got identical 6-1, 6-2 wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.
Allie Brosteau (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) took No. 5 singles by a 6-3, 6-1 score.
Brooklynn Steier (West De Pere, Wis./West De Pere) finished the sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, Steier and Brosteau got a 6-4 win at No. 2. Jantz and Aitken secured the doubles team point with a 6-3 win at No. 3. Regal and Wierzbicki fell at No. 1 doubles, 7-5.
UWSP will face Carroll at 9:00 a.m. on March 29 in Neenah.
