CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa—The UW-Stevens Point women's lacrosse team (3-0) defeated Mount Mercy (0-3) by a 16-3 final on Wednesday afternoon.
Elysia Pitts (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) opened the game for the Pointers, possessing the draw control and immediately netting an unassisted goal.
Barrie Bahr (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) recorded her first of many points this afternoon on an assist to

Addison Novack (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) scored on a player-down opportunity at 6:11 to extend the Pointers' lead to 3-0.
Marissa Van Dyke (Green Bay, Wis./Green Bay Southwest) broke up a Mount Mercy pass to find Bahr on another player-down opportunity. With 44 seconds remaining in the first quarter, Bahr scored her second of the game to extend the lead to 5-0 going into the second quarter.
Deutsch found the back of the net unassisted, just seconds into the second quarter.
Katie Wigen (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) kept the Pointers' scoring run going at 9:56 on a player-down opportunity. Bahr completed her second-straight game with a hat trick at 1:31 to set the Pointers up 8-0 going into the half.
Duetsch completed her first collegiate hat trick at 14:37 in the third quarter, off an assist from
Rowan Dunn (Janesville, Wis./Joseph A. Craig). Nearly a minute later,
Ava Muller (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) netted an unassisted goal extending the Pointers to a 10-0 lead. Mount Mercy got on the board at 9:40 on a player-up, free-position goal. Dunn found
Aubrey Keeping (Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead) at 7:53 on a player-down opportunity. Van Dyke closed out the third quarter scoring at 3:36 off an assist from Bahr, leading 12-1.
Mount Mercy scored their second of the afternoon at 13:50 to cut into the Pointers' 12-2 lead. Muller answered back with a goal from Pitts at 10:52. Keeping netted her second of the afternoon at 9:23 from a
Stella Welhouse (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) assist. Mount Mercy scored their final goal at 6:34 on a player-up opportunity. Pitts found the back of the net at 6:34 off an assist from Van Dyke to extend the Pointers' lead to 15-3. Bahr rounded out both team's scoring at 4:16, unassisted.
Lily Blanchard (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) was in goal and made four saves in 60 minutes of play.
The Pointers remain in Iowa to face St. Ambrose tomorrow (Mar. 18) in Davenport at 4:00 p.m.
