PLATTEVILLE, Wis.—The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's track and field teams concluded the WIAC Indoor Championships (pres. by Culver's) on Saturday afternoon. The women finished fourth with a team score of 45, the men finished sixth with a team score of 46.

Gracie Ridgway (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield),
Melanie Princl (West Bend, Wis./West) and
Lindsey Jossie (Pulaski, Wis./Pulaski) led the women's team scoring. Ridgway placed sixth in the pentathlon with a score of 3165. Princl secured a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.98. Jossie recorded the Pointers' highest individual finish of the day, taking third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.41. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Kya Smith (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa),
Adyn Theriault (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson),
Elida Nerothin (Madison, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) and
Emma Groff (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) rounded out the women's team scoring with a time of 4:01.47 to take fifth place.
Ben Kempe (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH),
Sean Heetland (North Aurora, Ill./West Aurora),
Collin Thier (Hurley, WIs./Hurley),
Nick Tuchscherer (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) and
Casey Ploederl (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) led the men's team scoring on Saturday afternoon. Kempe took sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.37. Heetland placed fifth in the 3000-meter run with the time of 8:35.64. Thier notched an eighth-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 17.35 meters. Tuchscherer recorded a leap of 14.06 meters in the triple jump to take fifth. Ploederl placed fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.96 meters. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Matthew Jokela (Lake Linden, Mich./Lake Linden-Hubbell),
Mason Mead (Wausau, Wis./West), Kempe and
Simeion Harris (Sandwich, Ill./Sandwich) wrapped up the men's team scoring with a third-place finish with the time of 3:19.76.
The Pointers are back in action on Saturday (Mar. 7) for the Ripon Final Qualifier and La Crosse Qualifier.
