CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point men's tennis team dropped both matches in Iowa on Saturday. The Pointers lost to Wabash, 7-0, before falling to host Coe by a 6-1 final.
Against Wabash, the Pointers won six games in doubles action. In singles play,
Dawson Froemming (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) won three games in each set at No. 1 singles.
Jacob Stinski (Oshkosh, Wis./West) won three games at No. 4 singles.
Ben Temple (Rockford, Ill./Lutheran) got the lone win on the day picking up a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles against Coe.
Ayden Knuth (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) came up short in a first-set tiebreak, 7-6 (2), at No. 5 singles. Stinski won four games at No. 4.
In doubles play against Coe, UWSP fell by 6-2, 6-4 and 6-3 scores.
The Pointers face Grinnell at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 15) in Iowa.
