RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (11-13-0, 5-6-0) fell at No. 1 UW-River Falls (22-1-0, 9-1-0) by a 4-1 final on Friday.
The Falcons tallied a pair of first-periods goals at 6:10 and 9:32 to put UWSP in a 2-0 hole.

Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) held the deficit at two until the third period. UWRF made it 3-0 on the power play at 8:47 of the third period. It was 4-0 after a goal at 12:22 of the third period.
Late in the third period,
Claire Riestenberg (Plymouth, Minn./Armstrong) broke up the shutout bid with her second goal of the season.
Amanda Pouchnik (Viola, Idaho/Moscow) had an assist on the goal.
Griege made 31 of her season-high 61 saves in the third period. It is the second-most in program history behind Griege's 70-save performance in 2024. UWRF goaltender Jordan O'Kane had 13 saves.
