ELMHURST, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point women's wrestling team finished second in the eight-team field at the Elmhurst Invite on Sunday. Only three schools registered team points.
Results
Alexis Winecke (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo) won the 103 bracket. She went 3-0 with all three wins by tech fall.
Amelia Adams (La Crosse, Wis./Logan) finished atop the 124 bracket. She got four wins all by tech fall.
Rosemary Triggs (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) was third in the bracket with two wins, one each by fall and tech fall.
Lana Zimmerman (Cortland, Ill./Dekalb) came in second in the 145 bracket. She got a win by tech fall in the semifinals.
In the 160 bracket,
Amerrah Kayon (Kenosha, Wis./Shoreland) finished second. She had three wins, one each by fall, tech fall and decision.
Sophia Paulson (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) took fifth with two wins by tech fall and one by fall.
Taylor Schulz (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) got a win by decision in the bracket.
Elsie Triplett (Annandale, Minn./Annandale) was third in the 131 bracket. She got three wins, two by decision and one by fall.
Lexi Karls (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail) was fifth in the bracket with two wins, one each by fall and tech fall.
Olivia Ramirez (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) came in seventh with a win by fall.
Madi Zube (Viroqua, Wis./Viroqua) finished third in the 180 bracket. She had two wins by fall and one by tech fall.
Teagan McKinnie (Buckeye, Ariz./Verrado) placed sixth with a win by fall.
Abbey Boersma (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) was seventh with a tech fall win.
Nadia Fuentes (Janesville, Wis./Craig) took fourth in the 117 bracket. She earned three wins, two by fall and one by tech fall.
Hollis Nelson (Milwaukee, Wis./Whitefish Bay) was sixth in the bracket picking up a tech fall win.
Margaret Zuber placed fifth in the 138 bracket. She earned one win by fall.
The Pointers head to UW-Oshkosh for a 7:00 p.m. dual on Thursday (Jan. 22).
