PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's wrestling team won the Lakeland Scramble on Sunday. The Pointers won eight of the 10 brackets.
Results
Alexis Winecke (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo) took first in the 103 bracket. She went 3-0 on the day with all three wins by fall.
Margaret Gillmore (Bristol, Wis./Westosha Central) and
Hollis Nelson (Milwaukee, Wis./Whitefish Bay) were co-champions in the 117 bracket. Both went 2-0 with Gillmore winning twice by fall and Nelson getting one win by fall and one by tech fall.
Amelia Adams (La Crosse, Wis./Logan) won the 124 bracket with four wins, three by tech fall and one by fall.
Rosemary Triggs (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) was second with two wins, one each by tech fall and decision.
Nadia Fuentes (Janesville, Wis./Craig) had one win by fall in the bracket.
Elsie Triplett (Annandale, Minn./Annandale) and
Cera Philson (Thorp, Wis./Thorp) were co-champions in the 131 bracket. Philson won twice by fall and Triplett had two wins, one each by fall and tech fall.
Olivia Ramirez (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) has one win by decision.
Maggie Zuber (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) placed first in the 138 bracket. She had four wins on the day, two by fall and two by decision.
Lexi Karls (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail) was third with four wins, two by fall and one each by tech fall and decision.
Brooke Schuenemann (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth Comprehensive) finished first in the 145 bracket. She had three wins, one each by fall, tech fall and forfeit.
Amerrah Kayon (Kenosha, Wis./Shoreland) won the 160 bracket. She racked up five wins, three by fall and two by decision.
Katey Nosbisch (Black River Falls, Wis./Black River Falls) was third with two wins, both by fall.
Madi Zube (Viroqua, Wis./Viroqua) and
Teagan McKinnie (Buckeye, Ariz./Verrado) shared first place in the 180 bracket. McKinnie had one win by decision.
Kate Riege (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead Union) won a match by decision in the 207 bracket.
The Pointers travel to Carthage for a dual at 6:00 p.m. on Friday (Jan. 16).
