GREEN BAY, Wis.—The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's cross country teams competed in the UW-Green Bay Phoenix Open. The 13th-ranked men finished first and the women seventh in a nine-team field.

Logan Murphy (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) finished second individually with a time of 24:53.0, just behind Green Bay's first-place finish.
Mateo Alvarado Venegas (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) took third with a time of 25:06.2.
Malachi Kurth (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) rounded out the men's top-10 finishers with a time of 25:47.0.
Faith Wehrman (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) took fourth for the women with a time of 22:09.7 in her collegiate debut.
Brooklyn Hoff (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) placed 35th with a time of 23:23.3 and
Makaela Malin (Monticello, Minn./St. Michael, Albertville) was 49th just 17 seconds later.
The Pointers cross country teams will return to the course on Friday, September 19 for the UW-Oshkosh Titan Fall Classic.
