BELOIT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's soccer team (7-1-1) picked up a 2-1 road win over Beloit (3-4-2) on Sunday.
Jaxon Buckley (Kingsford, Mich./Kingsford) scored both goals in the win for the Pointers. He put UWSP in front in the 18th minute with an unassisted goal.
Buckley scored again in the 76th minute with
Marcelo Chavez (Verona, Wis./Verona Area) getting an assist on the eventual game-winner.
Beloit got on the board in the 83rd minute.
UWSP goalkeeper
Jacob Havlik (Onalaska, WIs./Onalaska) made three saves to earn the win. Beloit keeper David Staats kept the Buccaneers in the match with 12 saves.
The Pointers are back on the road on Saturday (Sept. 27) for a 3:00 p.m. match at Concordia (Wis.).
